Alex, an old college buddy and aspiring photographer, joined me on a self-guided tour of an 18th century factory in Seymour, CT today. We got permission to shoot in this old factory, but sadly enough I really didn't get to shoot much. Minutes after I took this, I fell through a weak spot of the floor. I nearly went right through, but caught myself just in time. I split my chin open, which required four stitches. I'm fine now and ready to get back into that place sometime next week. The light is incredible and pours in from skylights, tall windows, and apparently holes from the second floor thanks to my unfortunate handy work. I half-heartedly hope that my chin scars because I feel that I'm lacking in the facial scar department. The chicken pox scar on my right cheek doesn't exactly qualify for interesting battle scar conversation.

You are lucky you are ok! Well you will never be 100% mentally but at least physically you are good to go! Great picture. I can't believe after all of that you are going to go back there to take pictures...You rebel!

Ah, the life of the photojournalist! I once shot in a huge abandoned Con Edison building that had the most astounding light shafts and brickwork...Couldn't see one foot in front of the other..best experience ever. Hope your chin's okay. ~ Jeanne
