More from the bar cam...

June 23, 2007

Earlier this year, I bought a used Olympus C-5050 camera after reading this article. Despite being a point-and-shoot camera, it has a 1.8 lens and it's the ideal bar camera. (April 10, Feb. 28, and Feb. 1 are just a few past images on this blog shot with this "amateur camera." The below images of my muse were shot with it as well. The first is lit with an overhead pool table light and the second is lit by construction lights outside the bar.

Apparently this Central Connecticut University Football player didn't care if a stadium of people watching a championship lacrosse game watched him pee atop a hill in the second half. He's not the only one to feel relieved. I've been shooting lacrosse games all week and it was refreshing to shoot something different.

It's state tournament time for high school sports, so I'll be shooting a lot of lacrosse, baseball, and softball over the next two weeks. Below are a few images from today's first round CIAC girl's lacrosse game between Ludlowe and New Milford.

I had to go back (see May 11) to John Grande's barbershop today to photograph a loose end for an upcoming feature for Sunday's paper. I wasn't really satisfied with the May 11 portrait to include in an off-beat portrait series I'm working on, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to re shoot him. I'm not really satisfied with either of the portraits. Maybe the martini smock was too much on this go around..
