2:43:06 PM: A hawk and a squirrel engaged in a turf war above my head as I walked in downtown New Haven. After circling the tree several times and destroying a nest, the hawk reluctantly flew away.

8:11:16 PM: I had to photograph Gore Vidal speaking tonight. This guy isn't him...it's actually the guy who introduced Vidal, but I loved the light reflecting off the speaker's podium. The light, coupled with his suit and somber expression, reminded me of The Goodfellas movie poster.

I visited with Franky today. He was home babysitting his daughter, Cheyenne. Once his wife got home, I tagged along as he fed his cattle and horses. Somehow he talked me into getting on the back of a docile bull named Billy. Franky became the photographer and for a brief moment, I was a bullrider....or a bull"sitter" rather...
